I’ve just had the greatest weekend! The Danish Free Press Society has just had the pleasure of hosting Tommy Robinson, as we had chosen him as a recipient of the Sappho award, the prize we give once a year to a person who shows undaunted courage in the fight for free speech. Despite being the target of threats and endless harassment by the left, the political elites, the government, and others, Tommy Robinson has always been incredibly brave. I certainly don’t know many people with his type of courage.

On the day of the award ceremony, a rather small group of unwashed, black balaclava and jackboot wearing AntiFa had, predictably, gathered in the courtyard of the Parliament building where we hosted the award – of course hoping to disrupt the proceedings. They didn’t at all, we barely noticed them as the Danish police were numerous and clearly in control. It was actually rather amusing as the police had them gathered and cornered behind police plastic banner/strips. They stood and shouted a bit in the cold, while we could see them from the windows, standing in the warmth enjoying a glass of champagne and cake. I raised my glass to them – I hope they saw it!
It was a very touching moment when Tommy entered the room, everyone stood up and clapped for quite some time and it was very clear that Tommy was very touched. I have to admit that I felt rather proud of being a Dane and that the Danish Free Press Society are able to stand in parliament in our fight for Free Speech. It is extremely unfortunate that so few countries and politicians take this important stand. Marie Krarup, a Danish politician from the Danish People’s Party, started the proceedings with some very nice words about Tommy. It really is great that we have politicians like her, and I truly wish there were more with her integrity and dedication to free speech.
A phenomenal speech
Tommy gave a phenomenal speech that was focused on showing how the mainstream media, MSM, lies and distorts the truth. It truly is shocking, and I am pretty sure that there were many present who did not know just how extreme the extent of the MSM’s manipulations and lies about him are. Ironically he had been invited onto the Danish news show Deadline after the awards, and the Danish interviewer Steen Nørskov did exactly what Tommy had just hours ago talked about in his speech – in other words, he launched into a very obvious attempt at character assassination, but luckily Tommy is far too sharp to let a person like that get the better of him.

He gave as good as he got and did not let himself be trampled. On the contrary! It was an admirable performance. In fact, the only person in the room that came off as hateful was the interviewer himself! Unfortunately that same interviewer also, in the next segment mounted an unprecedented and very unpleasant attack on the Free Press Society’s President Aia Fog by asking her questions about a few of Tommy’s earlier encounters with the law, of course attempting to paint Tommy as a criminal and why would we give an award to such a person.
She was visibly and understandably uncomfortable, but she stood her ground and told the interviewer that we were giving the award to Tommy not because of his earlier problems with the law, but for his courage regarding freedom of speech. That said the attack on her really was repellent. Tommy was present in the wings during her interview and could see what was going on. Despite not being able to understand Danish, he confronted the interviewer afterwards regarding the interview with Aia, and secretly recorded the exchange which he will himself publish. The journalist will no doubt be unhappy when he does. I say: Good, any discomfort will be very well deserved!
He always records the interviews
The following day Tommy had five interviews with various publications. Tommy is very wise to also record these interviews himself which of course makes it difficult for the journalist to lie afterwards, or if they do then Tommy has evidence of the facts.
It really is enjoyable to spend time with Tommy. He is charismatic, very down to earth, has an energizer-bunny type of energy and humor. He really is eminently likeable, and people instinctively take to him. It is unfathomable to me that England is not celebrating the courage of this Englishman who, single-handedly, takes on the MSM, the establishment and tries to give voice to the average Englishman frustrated at seeing their country deteriorate and the thousands of girls who have been, for decades, raped by Muslim men. Perhaps the British establishment are ashamed of their own inaction, lack of backbone, morality and decency and don’t want that shame to be shown. Well Tommy exposes them for what they are.
He IS the very spirit of Britain, and the picture of the English bulldog. More like him please! May God bless this British “Braveheart” and keep him safe.

I agree with all you say with the exception of the praise for Danish Police. When Ezra Levant tried to interview AntiFa he was pushed and threatened with arrest by the cops unless he stood exactly where they wanted him to. Shocking.
Thank you so, so, so much for recognising this absolute hero! What a thoroughly excellent choice and such a deserved honour. Congratulations, brave Tommy!
Thank you Ingrid and Maria from Edmonton, Alberta Free State for your editorial in English.
Tommy Robinson is an inspiration for all free thinking people.
